Transitions
We believe that it is not enough to prepare a child for the next grade - the true goal of education is to prepare a student for a successful life. Leona Group schools teach to the whole child - academically, behaviorally, socially and emotionally. To achieve this, we work to ensure that students transition well from the challenges of today into the adventures of tomorrow.
Upon enrolling in a Leona Group school, students create an educational plan that addresses their unique aspirations for life beyond graduation. Transitional plans are provided for all students as they move between grade levels, schools or learning environments. At all school levels, students receive instruction which is based on state standards and appropriate to grade level in order to ensure successful transition from grade to grade in a timely manner.
- At the elementary level the educational plan includes career exploration as well as a variety of classes and extracurricular experiences designed to expose students to a wide variety of options.
- All middle and junior high school level, students receive exposure to extracurricular activities which further their knowledge of post-graduate options.
- At the high school level the educational plan begins to address individual student interests and focus areas.
- Meetings with representatives from universities, colleges, technical schools and the military expose students to the variety of choices available.
- This plan also addresses a plan to meet financial resources for post high school education.
