Consortium Goes Green
Because of the hard work by our teachers, students, and parents, Consortium College Preparatory High School has received the 2011 Michigan Emerald School designation. Our students and staff have completed at least 15 energy saving and environmental tasks. Nancy Gregor, Wayne County Michigan Green School Co-coordinator, wrote: "The efforts you made to complete the tasks are very impressive. I urge Consortium College Preparatory High School to continue with the energy saving and environmental tasks and hope you encourage others to follow." Students actively participate in a school-wide recycling program. They discuss alternative energy in their science classes. We hascsve had visitors from the Sierra Club, speaking about endangered species. There will be a recognition ceremony to be held later this spring, and Consortium also received a banner to be displayed in front of the school. We are the first Leona Group school in Wayne County to earn this honor.
