Consortium Helps Wildlife

Under the auspices of the World Wildlife Fund, the students of Consortium have adopted a live cougar.  They are helping to preserve endangered species and protect our natural environment.  They are also learning important lessons about a very beautiful and powerful animal.

Cougars live throughout North America, especially in the western states.  They hunt deer, moose, and elk, along with smaller animals.  They live in a variety of habitats and are extremely fast runners.  Cougars also happen to be the official mascot of Consortium College Preparatory High School.

Rebecca Tate, coordinator of our Michigan Green School program, explained: "This is an excellent opportunity to teach students the importance of being good stewards of our earth.  We are happy to participate in this very important program."
