About Us

Voyageur Academy opened its doors in 1998. We currently serve grades K-12, with students in grades 6-12 attending Consortium College Preparatory High School. Located in the heart of Detroit, Voyageur academy was established in response to demand by the community for a quality educational choice for area students. Voyageur is a tuition-free public charter school that focuses on high standards in academics and behavior.

Currently, Voyageur serves over 300 students and maintains a waiting list for enrollment each year. Approximate 95% of our grade eligible students return to us each year. And, Voyageur students who remain with us through high school maintain a 98% graduation rate!

Voyageur Academy meet's the state's standards for accreditation and the high school program at Consortium is accredited through AdvancED (formerly North Central Association, NCA).
