Attaining a Charter

 

The Leona Group will consult with you to develop initial steps in the process of starting your "dream" school. A charter school must be chartered by the governing board of a public body that is authorized to issue charter contracts pursuant to that state’s law. These authorizers and sponsors may include:

  • Community College

  • Department of Education

  • Executive of a Consolidated City (Indianapolis Mayor’s Office)

  • Intermediate School District (ISD)

  • K-12 Local Education Agency (Traditional School District)

  • State Public University

Site Location

 

The Leona Group can assist you in finding an appropriate facility conducive to housing your educational program, considering enrollment and staffing projections. Suitability of a location area is a high priority. The Leona Group works with building facilitators and architects to ensure buildings you choose meet local and state regulations and codes.

Start Up Funding

 

The Leona Group focuses on supporting high-quality schools that serve children in underserved areas. We will discuss opportunities to help you secure start-up funding for your new "dream" school. The Leona Group has relationships with Michigan banks which can be part of this funding discussion. Our desire is to work with you to implement funding to help you securely start-up your financial plannings.
